We're here to revolutionise and enable grassroots companies in creating, selling, and promoting their events through social connectivity. This document outlines the terms and expectations for our community members as we work together to transform the events industry.
- Company Information
The Guestlist mobile application and website (guestlistpro.co.uk) (individually and together (the “Platform”)) are owned and operated by Guester Limited trading as Guestlist (“we”, “our” and “us”). Guester Limited is a private limited company, registered in England (company number: 14980477, registered office: 20 Blackhill Lane, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 9DD).
- Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use (or "Terms") govern your use of Guestlist, except where we expressly state that separate terms (and not these) apply and provide information about the Guestlist Service (the "Service"), outlined below. By creating a Guestlist account or using our services, including purchasing tickets, creating events and posting content, you are agreeing to these Terms. If you have any questions or need clarification, please feel free to contact us.

Any personal information you provide via the Platform will be governed by the terms of our [Privacy Policy] (insert link).

- Events and Ticketing
Event organisers will create and publish their events on users' feeds. Event organisers will have the option to actively engage with customers by updating event pages and responding to inquiries. Guestlists will have the free option to create private events for functions such as house parties. Users of the app will browse events based on their preferences and location, enabling them to discover events. There is also a secondary market for sold-out events.
- Charging and Advertising
Guestlist is free to use, except for specific services we may charge for. We generate revenue by showing ads from businesses and organizations. These ads help us connect you with relevant content and personalized advertisements based on your interests. By using our Products, you agree to see such ads, which are tailored to your preferences using your personal data.
- Who can use our services?
We aim to make Guestlist an open, inclusive, and safe community in accordance with the law. To be part of the Guestlist community, you agree to the following:
- Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be a real human, and not a bot or automated system.
- You must not be prohibited from using any aspect of our Service under applicable laws included payments-related Services and must not be on any applicable denied party listing.
- Your account must not have previously disabled by us for violations of the law or policies.
- You must not be a convicted sex offender.
- Account Information
- You must use your real name on your Guestlist account.
- Provide accurate, up-to-date and non-misleading information when registering on the Platform. You can update your details at any time.
- Create and use only one account for personal purposes.
- Do not share your password, grant access to your Guestlist account to others, or transfer your account to anyone else without our permission.
- Account Ownership
- All references to "you" and "your" in this User Agreement apply to both individual end users and accounts created on behalf of legal entities. If you are creating or operating an account on behalf of someone else, a company, organization, or government, you must have legal authority to do so.
- Advertising and Data Usage
- Personalised Ads: When you use Guestlist, you acknowledge that we display ads and sponsored content based on information such as your age, gender, interests, activity, location, and device details. This information helps us ensure that the ads are relevant to you and support our free service.
- Ad Performance Reports: We provide advertisers with general demographic and interest data to help them understand their audience's interaction with ads on and off Guestlist. Your personal identification information is not shared unless you explicitly permit it.
- Branded Content: Account holders may not post branded content promoting products or services in collaboration with business partners, unless exception is granted by the company.
- Information Usage: We collect and use your information to provide our services and show relevant ads. More details about the types of information we use are available in our Privacy Policy.
- Your Use of the Platform:
- Registration and Limited License: You can only use the Platform after registering, and in doing so, you are granted a limited license for personal use, as per the Terms.
- Right to Restrict Usage: We reserve the right to restrict or prevent your use of the Platform if you fail to comply with the Terms or under certain exceptional circumstances.
- Legal Compliance: You must comply with all applicable laws.
- Prohibited Usage: You must not use the Platform for unlawful purposes or engage in any activity that may damage our reputation or impair the Platform's functionality.
- Security and Malware: You are prohibited from uploading or transmitting viruses, malware, or harmful programs designed to disrupt computer or mobile device operations.
- Unauthorized Access: Do not attempt unauthorized access to any part of the Platform, accounts of other users, or violate the rights of individuals or entities.
- Respectful Conduct: You must refrain from disseminating content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, or abusive based on various factors.
- Advertising: Using the Platform for product or service advertising is not allowed without our express written consent.
- Content Monitoring: While we have limited control over the content, we may monitor it. We disclaim liability for such content and encourage users to contact us to report issues.
- Respect for Event Organizers: Treat Event Organizers and their staff respectfully and avoid any harmful, unlawful, threatening, or discriminatory behaviour when attending events or using the Platform.
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and should not share your password with others.
- Commercial Use and Data Extraction: Content on the Platform is not for commercial use. Data scraping, crawling, or automation to create multiple user accounts and book tickets is prohibited. Violating this may lead to account suspension and ticket cancellations.
Public Events & Ticketing
- Event organisers rules, regulations, and terms
- Agent Role: Guestlist primarily acts as an agent to facilitate the sale of tickets to Events on behalf of Event Organisers. Guestlist does not own or purchase tickets, set prices, or determine seating locations. Ownership of tickets and entry rights remain with the Event Organiser.
- Principal Role (Rare Cases): In very limited cases, Guestlist may act as a principal for ticket sales to specific Events.
- Responsibility Disclaimer: Guestlist is not responsible for the actions or inactions of Event Organisers or their representatives. Contracts for Event services are directly between you and the Event Organiser. Guestlist is a platform to connect users with Event Organisers and is not the creator or owner of Events, disclaiming responsibility, or liability for Event operations.
- Event Organiser Rules and Regulations:
- Terms and Conditions: Tickets are subject to the terms and conditions, rules, and regulations of the Event Organiser, which may also include venue-related rules and regulations. Detailed information is available directly from the Event Organiser. Compliance with local, national, and other laws, including health and safety, noise, capacity, security, and licensing rules, is required when purchasing tickets and attending an Event.
- Personal Property and Pass-outs: The Event Organiser and Guestlist do not assume responsibility for personal property taken to an Event. Pass-outs or re-admissions may be at the Event Organiser's discretion.
- Arrival Time: Event Organiser Terms may specify an arrival time at the venue. Failure to arrive by the stipulated time may lead to entry refusal.
- Group Attendance: If you have booked tickets for a group, you must transfer tickets via our platform to each of the respective attendees. Refusal of entry is possible if someone else has your ticket on their platform.
- Compliance Responsibility: Guestlist has no responsibility for your compliance with the Event Organiser Terms. Refusal of entry due to non-compliance does not entitle you to a refund.
- Event Details: Event details provided by Guestlist are on behalf of the Event Organiser. It is advisable to verify Event details with the venue, Event Organiser, or both before attending the Event. While efforts are made to keep information up-to-date, errors may occur.
- Disputes and Complaints: Disputes or complaints about Event content, quality, or actions/inactions of the Event Organiser, staff, performers, etc., should be directed to the Event Organiser. Guestlist welcomes feedback of your Event experiences.
- Tickets
- Bookings:
- You can generally book up to 10 tickets, and restrictions, if any, will be notified during booking.
- Tickets can be booked by selecting the "Book Now" or "Confirm Tickets" buttons and following on-screen prompts.
- Your order is an offer, and we may accept or decline it. If accepted, we'll confirm it on-screen and via email. However, we may terminate your booking if payment details are found invalid or linked to fraudulent behaviour.
- Concealing identity through multiple IP addresses or email addresses is prohibited.
- Compliance with transaction-related laws is required.
- If we can't verify or authenticate information or tickets, or if we can't authorise your payment, your tickets may be cancelled.
- Using ticket bot technology to search, reserve, or purchase tickets is prohibited.
- Delivery of Tickets and Presentation of Tickets at Events:
- When booking through the mobile app, you will receive an e-ticket via email and receive a QR code on your phone. Website bookings receive e-tickets. E-tickets are honoured by the Event Organiser.
- When attending an Event, have your e-ticket ready for display.
- The Event Organiser will scan your e-ticket using the Guestlist Entry Manager App.
- General Ticket Terms:
- Tickets must be used on the specified date and time, or they become invalid. No refunds for unused tickets.
- Copying or reproducing tickets is prohibited. Reselling, trading, transferring, or reproducing tickets without legitimate transfer through the Platform is grounds for ticket seizure or cancellation.
- Check your ticket upon receipt and report mistakes or non-receipt immediately.
- Check for event cancellations or rescheduling. Notice will be given once authorised by the Event Organiser.
- Event Organisers may alter events due to unforeseen circumstances. Refunds are not guaranteed.
- Tickets are revocable licenses and remain the property of the Event Organiser. Admission can be refused, and tickets refunded if applicable.
- Keep tickets safe. Duplicate tickets may be issued with an administration charge unless prohibited.
- Using tickets in promotions or competitions without permission is restricted.
- Ticket Price, booking fee, and payment.
- Booking Fees:
- A booking fee is applied to tickets sold through the Platform. The price displayed will be inclusive of the booking fee.
- Event Organisers may decide to increase the booking fee.
- The booking fee includes charges for Guestlist services and payment processing costs.
- Guestlist may round booking fees to the nearest currency unit.
- Booking fee is typically inclusive of VAT.
- Promotional Codes:
- If you have a promotional code, enter it at the time of booking.
- The ticket price will automatically adjust if the code is valid.
- The promotional code only applies to the ticket price and not the booking fee.
- Payment Methods:
- Payments for tickets can be made using debit/credit cards, Apple or Google Pay.
- Cash payments are not accepted.
- Payment details can be entered in "Settings" or during the ticket purchase process.
- Payment Validation:
- Card payments are subject to validation checks by your card issuer.
- We are not responsible if your card issuer declines authorisation.
- Your card issuer may charge online handling or processing fees, for which we are not responsible.
- The payment provider may test your account with a small debit, which will be refunded.
- Price Changes:
- Ticket prices are subject to change at any time.
- Tickets with booking confirmation won't be affected by price changes.
- Credit and Rewards
- Claiming Credit and Rewards: To claim any available credits or rewards, you must enter a valid code in the "Add Credit" section of the Platform, accessible under "Settings” or at the time of checkout. When you claim any credit or reward provided by us, it will be automatically applied in full to your first purchase following the claim. The purchase price will be adjusted accordingly.
- Credit and Reward Expiry: Unless otherwise specified, any claimed but unredeemed credit or reward, whether awarded through a credit code or another method, will expire three months from the date of your claim. Generally, credits and rewards can be claimed for a period of three months from the date of issuance, after which they will expire and become invalid. Credits and rewards are non-purchasable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Right to Modify: We reserve the right to terminate or modify any credit or rewards scheme, including those offered through competitions, advertising, or marketing promotions, as well as the right to change these Terms, either in part or in whole, with or without prior notice. Such changes may impact any credits or rewards you have accumulated or your entitlement to them.
- Abuse of Credit and Rewards: If we, at our sole discretion, determine that you are abusing any credit or rewards scheme provided by us, we retain the right to revoke any credits or rewards that have been awarded to you.
- Single-Account Usage: Credits and rewards cannot be combined from multiple accounts for a single booking.
- Event-Related Redemption: Credits or rewards redeemed for use with an event will not be refunded in the event of non-attendance.
- Cancellations and Refunds
This policy outlines the cancellations and refunds procedure, which is an integral part of Guestlist's terms and conditions for customers (the "Terms"). Definitions used in this policy hold the same meanings as set out in the Terms.
- Cancelling Tickets: some text
- Due to the nature of our services, which often involve the purchase of tickets shortly before an event starts, it is generally not possible to cancel ticket purchases. Guestlist cancellation of events policy, allows events companies to cancel events prior to 48 hours of the event. If the events company cancels the event within 48 hours, the events company will not receive any compensation and the refund policy is at the discretion of the event organisers.
- Obtaining Refunds:
- For events cancelled prior to 48 hours to the event, refunds (less booking fees) will automatically occur. The event company will receive no compensation.
- For events cancelled after 48 hours, the refund policy is at the discretion of the event organisers, however Guestlist will not provide refunds, nor provide any compensation to the event holders.
- Before purchasing tickets for an event, it is essential to be aware of the refund policy set by the Event Organizer. If necessary, you should directly contact the Event Organizer. Some Event Organizers may have a "no-refund" policy.
- If an Event Organizer permits refunds, specific conditions will likely apply. To inquire about a refund, please contact the Event Organizer directly. In cases where you breach the event's terms and conditions of entry, you may not be eligible for a refund.
- Guestlist can process refunds on behalf of an Event Organizer within 48 hours only under the following conditions:some text
- The Event Organizer grants us permission.
- Sufficient funds are available in the Event Organizer's account to cover the refund.
- In cases where an Event Organizer has a "no-refund" policy, Guestlist cannot process refunds except in the event of a technology error (see below). If you wish to request a refund, please contact the Event Organizer directly.
- Refunds - Technology Error:
- Guestlist will consider processing a refund if you can demonstrate that a technology error on our part occurred and you notify us before the event begins. Please contact us and provide evidence of an error attributed to us, not caused by you.
- Cancelling a Ticket Purchase Transaction with Your Bank:
- If you attempt to obtain a refund by cancelling a ticket purchase transaction with your bank or credit card company without a legitimate basis, Guestlist reserves the right to reclaim the full price of the tickets (including booking fees) and any fees incurred due to the transaction cancellation, including chargeback or dispute fees assessed by our payment partner. We may also suspend your use of the Platform.
- Accidental Refund:
- If a transaction is mistakenly refunded after an event has taken place, we cannot reverse this action. Guestlist reserves the right to re-charge the card used in the original transaction, should you have stored this card information with our payment partner. The re-charge will be for the same value as the original transaction, including any booking fees and Ticket Refund Protection fees paid.
- Receipt of Refunds:
- We will make every effort to process refunds promptly. Please allow five to ten business days for a refund to appear in your bank account. If you are expecting a refund directly from an Event Organizer, please clarify the expected timeframe with them.
Private Events
- Event Creation: All users will have the free option to create and manage private events. Private events can be cancelled at any time. Guestlist holds no responsibility for the actions taken at private events. The use of Guestlist to create private events for, but not limited to, illegal gatherings, gambling events, riots, is not tolerated, and user will be banned if they create such events.
Social Media
- Permissions of Shared Content
- Permission to Use Your Username and Profile Information: some text
- You grant us permission to display your username, profile picture, and information about your actions (e.g., likes) or relationships (e.g., follows) next to or in connection with accounts, ads, offers, and other sponsored content that you follow or engage with on Guestlist Products, without compensation to you. For instance, we may show that you liked a sponsored post created by a brand that paid us to display its ads on Guestlist. Actions on sponsored content and follows of sponsored accounts can only be seen by people who have permission to see that content or follow, and we will respect your ad settings. - Updates to the Service:
- You agree that we can download and install updates to the Service on your device.
Additional Provisions
- Updating these Terms:
- We understand that our Service and Policies may need to evolve to ensure a safe and secure experience on our Products and services, and to comply with relevant laws. Therefore, we may make changes to these Terms when necessary, ensuring that they accurately reflect our Service and Policies.
- We will only introduce changes if the current provisions are no longer appropriate, if they are incomplete, or if the changes are required for safety, security, or legal compliance reasons. We are committed to making reasonable changes that consider your interests.
- Unless required by law to act otherwise, we will notify you, typically through our Service, at least 30 days before implementing changes to these Terms. This advanced notice gives you an opportunity to review the updated Terms before they come into effect. If you choose to continue using the Service after the changes, you will be bound by the updated Terms.
- However, if you disagree with these updated Terms or any future revisions, you have the option to delete your account.
- This revised version of the section maintains the original meaning while eliminating redundancies and making it more straightforward for users to understand the process of updating the Terms and termination of services.
- Intellectual Property
- Ownership of Content: You acknowledge and agree that all intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademarks, logos, text, graphics, photos, sound, and software, in all material or content within the Platform, are owned by us or our licensors. You do not acquire any ownership rights by downloading or using the Platform.
- Use of Content: The material and content within the Platform are for personal, non-commercial use only. You may download such material and content onto one computer hard drive or mobile device for this purpose. Any other use, such as copying, reproducing, transmitting, publishing, displaying, distributing, or creating derivative works, is strictly prohibited.
- User Generated Content: When you submit User Generated Content, you retain your copyright, but you grant us and our affiliates a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, edit, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute the content for various purposes.
- Trade and Service Marks: The trademarks, logos, and service marks displayed on the Platform are owned by us or our licensors. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.
- Conditional License: We grant you a limited, conditional, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view the Site and its Content for non-commercial purposes. This license is contingent on your compliance with the provided terms. Any use beyond these terms infringes our copyrights, trademarks, and other rights.
- Acceptable Use, Account Suspension and Termination: To maintain a safe and open community for all, we require everyone to adhere to certain guidelines.
- Compliance with Terms: You must use Guestlist Products responsibly and in a manner that respects the safety and well-being of others and the integrity of our community. This means complying with these Terms, Community Standards, and other relevant policies that apply to your use of our Products.
- Identity and Accuracy: You must provide accurate and up-to-date information. Impersonation and creating accounts on behalf of others without consent is not allowed.
- Lawful and Honest Use: Your use of our Services must be lawful and honest, in alignment with these Terms, our policies, including Community Guidelines, Platform Terms, and Developer Policies. Branded content should adhere to our Branded Content Policies.
- Ownership & Rights: Do not share content that you don't own or lack the necessary rights to share, respecting intellectual property rights unless exceptions or limitations apply under applicable law.
- Unauthorized Access: Don't attempt to access or collect data from our Products using automated means without prior permission. Text and data mining rights are reserved by us.
- Misuse of Access Information: You may not upload viruses, malicious code, or engage in spamming or activities that disrupt the proper functioning of our services and Products.
- Data Use: You may not sell, license, or purchase any data obtained from us or our services, except as provided in the Platform Terms.
- No Reverse Engineering: Modifying, translating, creating derivative works, or reverse-engineering our products or their components is prohibited.
- Reporting & Appeals: Do not misuse reporting, flagging, dispute, or appeals channels, including making fraudulent, duplicative, or groundless reports or appeals.
- Consequences of Violation: We reserve the right to remove content or information that violates these Terms or policies. We may suspend or permanently disable your access to Guestlist Products in specific situations, and account deletion requests will initiate a process that may take up to 90 days for content to be fully removed. Certain exceptions may apply when content is in use under license, technical limitations exist, or it's required for legal obligations. We'll inform you of any actions taken, except when there are legal constraints, risks to our community, or technical limitations.
- Availability of Services:
- Service Reliability: While we strive to provide a smooth service, we cannot guarantee that the Platform will always be free of faults or that services will be uninterrupted. If an issue arises, please contact us, and we'll work to correct it promptly.
- Maintenance and Enhancements: Occasionally, we may need to restrict access to the Platform for repairs, maintenance, or to introduce new features or services. We will make every effort to minimize disruptions during these periods.
- New Service Testing: New services undergo a testing phase, during which they may not have full functionality, be subject to testing, experience occasional availability inconsistencies, or require the resolution of software issues. We appreciate your understanding during this period.
- Limits on Liability: The company’s liability for direct and indirect or consequential losses how so ever caused, including:some text
- Indirect losses that couldn't reasonably be foreseen at the time of agreeing to these Terms.
- Losses not resulting from our breach of these Terms.
- Actions or inactions of Event Organizers.
- Events beyond our reasonable control, including network failures.
- We exclude liability for tickets or goods provided by Event Organizers or third-party suppliers to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- We are not liable for the content or information you and other users provide.
- We are not affiliated with third-party service providers used on the Platform, and we disclaim liability for their acts or omissions.
- We accept liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence but do not seek to exclude liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
- You expressly waive rights to seek various damage types, including direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, even if advised of such possibilities.
Is limited to the ticket purchase price, less any administrative fees incurred by the company. Your statutory rights, including receiving services to a reasonable standard and within a reasonable time, remain unaffected by these Terms. Attorneys' fees won't be awarded or recoverable. If dissatisfied with the site, your sole remedy is to stop using it.
- Disputes and Additional Terms: some text
- Dispute Resolution:some text
- For disputes related to your use of the Service as a consumer, both you and we agree to resolve individual claims or disputes in the competent court of your main residence country, applying its laws without regard to conflicts of law provisions.
- For disputes related to the Service in any other capacity, including business or commercial use, you agree that such claims must be resolved in a competent Irish court, and Irish law will apply. Alternatively, we may bring claims against you in a UK court with jurisdiction.
- Entire Agreement and Supplemental Terms:
- These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Guestlist Platforms, Inc. concerning our Products, superseding any prior agreements.
- Certain Products may be governed by supplemental Terms. If you use such Products, you'll have the opportunity to agree to these supplemental terms, which will be part of our agreement with you. In case of any conflict with these Terms, the supplemental Terms prevail.
- Amendment and Transfer:
- If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, it will be amended to the minimum extent required for enforceability. If it can't be made enforceable, the unenforceable portion will be removed, and the rest will remain in effect.
- Failure to enforce any part of these Terms does not constitute a waiver. Any amendments or waivers must be in writing and signed by us.
- Rights and Obligations:some text
- You can't transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to others without our consent.
- You can designate a legacy contact for your account, who can manage it if it becomes memorialized. Only your legacy contact or a person identified in a legal document can access your account after your death or incapacity.
- Miscellaneous:some text
- These Terms don't grant third-party beneficiary rights.
- Our rights and obligations under these Terms can be assigned by us due to mergers, acquisitions, sales, or legal reasons.
- We may need to change your username in specific circumstances, such as when someone else claims it.
- We value your feedback and suggestions but may use them without restrictions or compensation, and we aren't obliged to keep them confidential.
- Ownership or control changes in our Products may lead to a transfer of your information to the new owner.
- Indemnification: If anyone makes a claim against us related to your use of the Site, Content, User Content, or a violation of the Terms, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us, as well as our affiliated companies, Event Organizers, suppliers, advertisers, and sponsors, and all our officers, directors, employees, and agents, harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses of any kind, including reasonable legal fees and costs. We retain the right to take exclusive control and defence of any claim, and you must cooperate fully with us in asserting any available defences.
- Mandatory Arbitration Agreement and Class Action Waiver: You and we agree that, except as provided below, any dispute, claim, or controversy related to the Terms, your use of the Site, or products or services sold, distributed, issued, or serviced by or through us, regardless of when that dispute, claim, or controversy arose, will be resolved solely through binding, individual arbitration, as outlined in the Terms, rather than in court. By agreeing to this, you both waive the right to a jury trial and commit to bringing claims against each other only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.some text
- Informal Dispute Resolution: Before commencing arbitration or asserting a claim in small claims court, you and we agree to engage in informal dispute resolution. It typically leads to prompt, cost-effective, and mutually beneficial outcomes. The process involves: The claimant must provide written notice to the respondent expressing the intent to initiate informal dispute resolution. To notify us, send an email to admin@guesterpro.com, with necessary details. The parties will engage in a good faith effort to informally resolve the claim through a conference, conducted via teleconference or videoconference. Counsel may participate if either party is represented. All discussions, offers, promises, and statements made during the informal dispute resolution process are confidential, inadmissible in subsequent proceedings, unless they were otherwise admissible or discoverable. The informal dispute resolution conference should occur within 60 days of receiving the written notice unless the parties mutually agree on an extension.
- Third-Party Services and Contentsome text
- Our Platform integrates with social networking platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, music streaming platforms like SoundCloud, and other third-party applications. Your use of integrated applications is subject to the terms of use and privacy policies of those third parties.
- When you access third-party websites or applications from the Platform, you do so at your own risk. Such third-party websites or applications are beyond our control, and we are not responsible for their content, functions, accuracy, legality, appropriateness, or any other aspect.
- We may request additional permissions related to your mobile device's settings, such as location access or push notifications, for certain actions or features. Declining to provide these permissions may limit your access to certain Platform features and functions.
- Severability: While we believe that the Terms do not contain any provisions contrary to law, if any part of the Terms is deemed illegal, invalid, or unenforceable, you agree to the following:some text
- The illegal, invalid, or unenforceable part shall still be enforced to the extent permissible to achieve the intent of the Terms.
- The remaining portions of the Terms will remain valid and enforceable.
